The Fourth Annual Farmdale Trail Runs will be held Saturday, October 17, 2009. Come join us for the 8-mile or 32-mile Ultra!

Race Day: 105 days

Located in East Peoria, IL, Farmdale is an 800 acre hidden gem maintained by the US Army Corps of Engineers and volunteer organizations. It offers beautiful views of both flora and fauna. With miles and miles of meandering single track trail, service road, and open prairie, Farmdale is the perfect stage for a premier trail race. If you enjoy trails and haven’t been to Farmdale, what are you waiting for? Here’s your chance!

Changes for Farmdale

Posted: January 21, 2009

One thing unique about Farmdale is that its course has changed slightly each year either through necessity or by choice of the RD.  This year there is a Farmdale race committee.  It is the decision of the committee to adjust the course in order to make aid, course management, and volunteering more feasible.  This year the CITRA race is still 8 miles long, but the ultra will be 32 miles long.  The ultra will be 4 loops of 8 miles.  The course will incorporate newly established trails as well.  A new map will be posted soon.  Instead of 3 well stocked aid stations, there will be one fluid station and two stocked aid stations (one of which you pass twice).  The cutoff for the ultra will be 9 hours.  This is more in line with other ultras and better for managing the race.  We hope participants will appreciate the improvements to the event, and we welcome feed back in order to keep it a fixture as a Central Illinois trail race. The 8 mile race will be the final race in the CITRA series and the Ultra is still the final race in the Illinois Trail Ultra Grand Slam series.

Race Info

Posted: October 16, 2008

You can pick up your packet tomorrow evening from 6:00 to 7:00 at the main parking lot.  We will be around before and after that if you cannot make it right at those times.  Packet pickup will also be from 6:00 to 7:00 race day morning.  If at all possible, come out Friday evening and check out the start/finish area and meet some of the runners who will be camping/hanging out.  Saturday looks to be perfect weather for a race.  The trees look awesome.  Just a great place to run!  See you then.  One last reminder, there is NO RACEDAY REGISTRATION!!

Race Course Altered

Posted: October 10, 2008

There is a section of the course called Muddy Meadow and Equine that remain unpassable due to recent flooding at the park.  This part of the park was under nearly 12 feet of water a few weeks ago.  We had hoped it would be dried out enough to clear debris and groom it for the race.  Unfortunately, we have gotten more rain and the trail continues to be unusable.  At this point, the race distance will be just over 7.5 miles and just under 32 for the ultra distance.  This is regrettable, but better than attempting to go through it.

REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED

Posted: October 02, 2008

WE HAVE REACHED OUR SET LIMIT OF 150 ENTRANTS.  ONE DAY BEFORE REGISTRATION WAS TO CLOSE.   WE ARE STARTING TO MARK COURSE THIS SATURDAY AND SHOULD HAVE IT MARKED WITH RIBBON BY THE END OF THE WEEK.  SEE YOU ON THE 18TH!!

REMEMBER-- IF YOU PLAN TO CAMP, BRING YOUR OWN WATER FOR PERSONAL USE

NO MORE MAIL IN REGISTRATIONS

Posted: September 28, 2008

We will not be accepting anymore mail in registrations postmarked after Monday the 29th.  Any registrations will be refused and sent back to sender.  Again, there is NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION.

Today's the Deadline for Pre-registering

Posted: September 19, 2008

Today is the ending date for pre-registering.  This will need to be online in order for it to get in today.  Pre-registering guarantees you a shirt.  All participants , whether pre-registered or not, will get a finisher's award and be eligible for door prizes, as well as the same amount of dirt, roots, and creek crossings.  There will be VERY few extra shirts ordered and those will be on first come first serve basis at packet pick up.  After today, the entry fee also goes up $5 for both distances.  Don't wait!

Pre-registration and Packet Pick up dates

Posted: September 16, 2008

There are some discrepancies on the race website.  I apologize for any confusion.  I try to catch these things, but with a fancier site comes more places to look for errors.  So to set matters straight, Pre-registration ends this Friday, Sept 19th, not the 24th.  Packet pickup is NOT on Oct 12th.  That was last years packet pick up date.  This year it is the night before the race, Oct 17th, from 6 PM to 7 PM and the day of the race Oct 18th from 6 AM to 7 AM.  Although we'll be out there earlier on race day.  I hope this clears up any confusion.  Again, sorry for the mistakes.
